Mental Health and Wellbeing

Our Hellow#Yellow Day was fantastic! We took part in lots of activities throughout the day which were good for our mental health and wellbeing.    We raised £130 for Young Minds

We all enjoyed getting our hands dirty planting our daffodil bulbs, it felt really good to be outdoors.

Year 5 looked at lemons REALLY carefully and produced some beautiful, detailed drawings which took a lot  of focus. In the afternoon, Year 5 continued to be calm as they practised mindfulness.

Year 3 experienced the benefits of laughing! They discovered that smiling and laughing, even when we don't feel happy, can actually change our mood and help to make us feel happy.

In Year1 the children made their own Worry Dolls. Traditionally, young children use them to help with any worries they have. Children will share their concerns with the dolls, then pop them under their pillows to help their worries go away overnight. They worked carefully and mindfully to create dolls of their own.

Everyone also thought about trusted people that they can go to when they need to talk about their feelings.

What a great day!

SMILING

In Year 2, we have been thinking about keeping our minds healthy, as well as our bodies. We thought about how smiling makes us and others feel better. We listened to the story 'Augustus and his Smile and made our own smiling tigers.
